Trevor Dyer, Dawn
‘I work for the family business. We sell and repair hospital equipment. I have been Commodore of SBYC for the last 5 years and have been on the committee for about 13 years. Dawn has been part of the family since 1986. She was built by my dad and this will be her first offshore adventure!
I have been sailing for about 26 years and have done many coastal trips from Mossel Bay and up the West Coast. I would love to go cruising one day and feel that the Governor's Cup is a good way to get some experience. I have never been to St. Helena either. Sailing with me will be Anton Nel and Wikus van der Merwe. Anton has a plastic injection moulding factory and sails with his wife Leonie on her Miura. Anton also sails his Flying Fifteen in club races and is also a keen fisherman and can often be spotted miles off Cape Point! Wikus is a Stevedore in Saldanha Bay and sails with his family on their Sadler 26. He has done a fair amount of coastal sailing and is also looking forward to the experience. We hope to do the race in about 12 to 14 days!
