Sailing
History
I started sailing in October 2005 and have been a member of South
African Sailing (SAS) since 2006. I am also a member of the J22
class association.
Much of my sailing takes place at the Transvaal Yacht Club (TYC),
on the Hartebeespoort Dam. I crew on a J22 "Jaywalker', belonging
to Steve Thysse; mostly as the foredeck and midshipman, but I
also sometimes take the helm. We take part in all the club racing
events, including the club championships and the other racing
series. I have also participated in the 2008 J22 Nationals as
well as the 2008 D.A.C Inland Keelboat Week in which I crewed
for Paul Thompson onboard Alfa Romeo, where we finished 5th overall
and 2nd in our class.

Ambitions
In the near future I would like to develop my racing skills and
compete in well known yacht races around the world. I would also
like to do lots and lots of ocean sailing. My ultimate dream is
to become a professional yacht racer and make a living from what
I love to do most…Sail!

Cup
This will be a great boost to my sailing career. I am willing
to work hard and help to win the race. I am willing to being a
paying crew – for my plane ticket back or for other matters
such as food (if I don't need a plane ticket and if we sail back).
